Are you growing Spiritually?

If you are, how? If not, then why not, or what would help you to grow do you think?

I think I'm trying to grow spiritually. I recently went through training at church to learn how to teach Sunday School. I'm glad to have the opportunity to serve!! Last night my pastor called me and asked me if I could teach the preschool class Sunday morning. I've never taught Sunday School before, or anything for that matter. I didn't hesitate to jump on the offer. I've been going to church steadilly for over 2 years now. I know a little about the Bible, but not as much as I want to. I thought by teaching the little ones would help me to learn and make it stick. So, today I went in with some fear, but more excitement and taught those youngsters!! It was fun, and it felt good to help out the church!! I'm slowly but surely growing spiritually!!

It has been my personal observation that my greatest spirtual growth has occured during times of service.

When we were doing our work in Mississippi after Katrina we learned so much about God, his provision for our needs, and how he ultimately pieces things together.

It seems when we get in our comfortable "groove" of life, that we don't feel like we need God so we don't ask for his intervention, and often can't see it when He does intervene.

Studying and learning God's word is extremely important. But there is not substitute for serving others.
